The Merton Park Primary PTA is a successful charity aimed at supporting Merton Park Primary School. The fundraising efforts of our PTA are incredibly important. Government funding only provides the essential support a school requires to operate on an annual basis and the Government funding budgets are being cut year on year.
Schools are becoming more and more dependent on their PTAs for funds and we understand that a strong PTA is a characteristic of a successful school.
We are incredibly lucky and have a great sense of community within our school. This sense of community allows us to deliver fantastic events for both our school and the extended community of Merton Park, Wimbledon.
The main objective of our PTA is to engage with parents and children.
Did you know that as a parent of a child who attends Merton Park Primary School you automatically become a member of the PTA? The PTA consists of a group of Mum’s, Dad’s and teachers.
PTA Committee
We have an elected group of Committee members and a large extended group of parents who all help and support our PTA. The Committee members meet every term to discuss event ideas, to evaluate how successful events have been and how we can improve. The Committee also meet once a term to discuss how to allocate the money raised to ensure we support special projects and initiatives that the school has identified.
Sub Committee
We are also very lucky to have various sub committees who take ownership of key events throughout the calendar year. If you would like to join one of the sub committees please keep and eye on the calendar as all meetings are announced here.
Class Reps
Each year group has a couple of class reps, who are parent volunteers who help to co-ordinate activities and communicate updates and news to the parents.
If you would like to join our PTA Committee or would like to volunteer then please get in touch. You can be involved as much as you like or as little as you like. Contact us if you have any ideas or comments.
