CHAIR’S REPORT – September 2014 – August 2015
Summary Review
This academic year the PTA committee continued to build on increasing the variety and quality of all the different events we organise. We are really lucky to have a dedicated group of volunteers who have given their time to organise successful projects such as the Christmas Party, the Big Quiz, the Christmas and Summer Fairs.
I would also like to thank everyone who also helped on the smaller projects, especially events which the children love so much such as the Halloween Party, Disco and the Cheap and Cheerful sales.
2014/15 has been a very productive year for the Merton Park Primary School PTA. From September 2014 to August 2015, our various fundraising events gave us a profit of:
£14,568
Parent’s/Carer’s Input
A big thank you to all who have helped us with our fundraising events.
We could not have achieved this without your help on the day, not only to raise money for the school but also for the events that don’t raise a lot of money but the children love doing. Thank you for the work of the class reps.
Fundraising Events
Halloween Party 2014
Profit £145
Two hours of crafts, packed tea, pass the parcel and a disco. The children looked fantastic in their fancy dress and seemed to have a great time. Thanks to all the mums and dads who helped as it was definitely needed!
Bonfire and Fireworks Night 2014
Profit £4,842
The event was very well attended even though it poured with rain ! !. As in previous years, the Bonfire and Fireworks Night is popular with our school staff, parents and pupils. It has also become a key event attended by the local Merton Park Community and receives sponsorship donations from local businesses. We were supported by an army of volunteers who did a fantastic job in making this event so successful.
Christmas Fair 2014
Profit £2,615
Thank you again to all who helped. This is our best profit ever from our fairs. The Christmas Trees made a great profit, and the festive food stalls. Thanks to Father Christmas for seeing so many children, and all the stall helpers.
